"Star Trek" only continued on three seasons, however, it had a remarkable influence on millions all over the world. The first series starred William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy as Captain James T. Kirk and Mister Spock, the original officer aboard the Enterprise. All together, Shatner and Nimoy portrayed Kirk and Spock through 3 seasons on the show and six movies. "Star Trek", the original series, ran from 1966-1969. The Star Trek movies that included the original cast were "Star Trek: The Motion Picture", "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan", "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock", "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home", the "Star Trek V: Final Frontier" and the "Star Trek VI: Undiscovered Country".
"Star Trek: The Next Generation" picked up 75 years after the original series. It went on from 1987-1994 for a total of seven seasons and 178 episodes. Patrick Stewart and Jonathan Frakes starred as Captain Jean-Luc Pickard and the first officer, William Riker. The tv program drew in a good following and brought forth a number of spin-offs, involving "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" and "Voyager".
"Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" persevered from 1993-1999. It deviated from the normal "Star Trek" plot in that it took place in a space station, instead of on the USS Enterprise as the original series and "The Next Generation" did. It starred Nana Visitor as Captain Kira Nerys.
"Star Trek: Voyager" is the fourth series to place after Captain Kirk took his very first voyage. Kate Mulgrew played the part of Kathryn Janeway, captain of the USS Voyager.
